Summer is here! In Vancouver, we are lucky to have some of the most beautiful summers in North America. With that being said, it can be hard to avoid the typical BBQ, hot toddy’s, and ice cream that we consume during the summer months. This can lead to those on a healthy diet feeling guilty about their food choices. I’ve created this list of 12 things you should eat this summer to ensure you don’t feel like you’re missing out!
12 things you should eat this summer
1. Fresh berries
Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are all delicious and nutritious. Enjoy them as a snack or add them to your breakfast or dessert recipes.
2. Grilled vegetables
Grill up some fresh veggies like zucchini, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and eggplant for a healthy side dish or main course.
This juicy fruit is refreshing on a hot day. Slice it up for a snack or use it in smoothies or cocktails.

Nothing says summer like raw fish and seaweed wrapped around rice with a bit of wasabi sprinkled on top! You can get sushi at almost any restaurant or food truck in Vancouver, so sushi is the way this summer if you’re looking for something light yet filling (and delicious)!
What would summer be without poutine? Suppose you haven’t tried this Canadian delicacy yet. In that case, you need to get yourself over to one of Vancouver’s many poutine shops (or make your own). You can’t miss out on this one!
8. Ice Cream
